- Ohio Sobriety Treatment and Reducing Trauma (Ohio START), a program that helps stabilize families struggling with substance use, is the first in the nation to receive national certification from Children and Family Futures! Ohio START is a collaboration among child protective services, peer mentors, the courts, and behavioral health and treatment providers who work closely to help parents achieve sobriety and children to heal from any trauma they may have experienced.

Dr. Lee served on her dissertation committee as well. She has accepted an assistant professor position at University of Texas Arlington School of Social Work!
- Sarah Presley (MSW student/graduate research assistant) passed her licensure test and is now a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Ohio. She also has accepted a position as a Clinical Assessor with Nationwide Children's Hospital in their Behavioral Health Juvenile Justice (BHJJ) program. BHJJ is responsible for completing diagnostic assessments for juveniles, developing recommendations for the level of care and evidence-based treatment programs, providing behavioral health consultation and training with juvenile court staff on mental health symptoms and resources, and advocating for families during the court process. - Dr. Lee was recently accepted to the Summer Research Institute as part of The National Data Archives on Child Abuse and Neglect, which is an online distance learning experience in the secondary analysis of child abuse and neglect data.
- In an efforts to bring awareness to and stop Asian hate during the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Lee lat year participated in an interview with the Huron Emery, a student produced newspaper at Huron High School, Ann Arbor, MI. Alison Mi, the Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper cover the story titled, "The long road back home: Joyce Lee's journey." The story was recently featured in Best of SNO, which showcases some of the best student journalism from a selective network of high school students.
- Dr. Lee was recently accepted as a trainee of the National Institute of Health funded Building a Multidisciplinary Pipeline of Researchers in Child Abuse and Neglect: Summer Training Institute for Early Career or Transitioning Scholars (R25HD082067). Through this opportunity, Dr. Lee will receive multidisciplinary training that will support her endeavors to better understand the etiology, epidemiology, and context of paternal child maltreatment.
