Fatherhood and Child Maltreatment Prevention

This research project focuses on examining paternal risks factors of child abuse and neglect, as well was leveraging positive father-child relationships, to prevent child maltreatment early on.

Health and Wellbeing of Foster Children 

This research project focuses on investigating individual, familial, and contextual factors associated or contributing to promoting the health and wellbeing of children in foster care. 

Child Welfare Reform and Policy 

This research project focuses on understanding the role and effectiveness of judicial tools--such as class action lawsuits and consent decrees--in reforming child welfare systems in the United States. 

The Ohio START Project

This research project focuses on evaluating the Ohio Sobriety, Treatment, and Reducing Trauma (START) project, a family peer mentor-based substance use treatment intervention for child welfare involved parents. 

KinCarolina

Funded by The Duke Endowment, KinCarolina aims to provide targeted, evidence-based supports to kinship caregivers raising children with disabilities in the Midlands region of South Carolina.
